How Parents Can Help
As a parent, you have the power to make a difference in your child success by staying informed and getting involved in your child’s day to day activities. Children grades 1-5 are very interested in staying active and involved in fun learning activities. It’s vitally important that parents keep the spirit of discovery growing. If you can get your child excited about what they are learning and in the activities that they are participating in, then what ever they learn will be that much easier and natural.
Positive Thinking
Thinking and speaking positively about what your child is involve in. You should never say to your child, “I wasn’t good enough or that it was hard.” Encouragement and praise can be the first steps toward success. As Parent you are the key to your child’s success, attitude, self esteem and confidence. You give them courage when you talk and support them in their activities.
Parental support is essential to the success of Rae’s Hope’s programs. We have some of the best parents. Our parents show dedication to our program by volunteering in some type of capacity. We have team moms to make phone calls, organize fundraisers, line judges at our games and are chaperon to other girls. They encourage not only their daughters, and sons, but all the others to do well too. If a child is having a difficult time completing the task, you can always be sure there will be another parent giving positive encouragement and helping them through their challenges.
